A Flat occurs as 1960 romantic comedy-drama directed by Billy Wilder, and starring Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine, and Fred MacMurray. Plot
Lemmon plays C.C Baxter, the lonely clerk, world health organization (around hope of corporate advancement) loans retired his apartment to executives for their extra-adulterous affairs, which includes his colleagues & his boss Mr. Sheldrake (MacMurray). A business dealings becomes complicated whenever he lessens for Miss Kubelik (MacLaine), an elevator operator - that turns bent on become his boss's mistress. A results may be tragical or even uproarious; a film typically treads a thinly line between them.
Awards
A Flat was nominated for x Academy Awards and took home 5. Billy Wilder won 3, including his number 1 for Right Picture, 2nd for Better Director, & third for Right Screenplay. Although Jack Lemmon didn't win, Kevin Spacey dedicated his Oscar for American Beauty to Jack's performance.
